Tug-of-War

1) List all of the questions your group came up with based on this prompt "Tug of Wars and Physics"?
What is the function of the rope?
Where is force important for the winning team?
What causes friction in the rope?
How much force acts on the rope?
How can one person exert a lot of force?
How is the losing team losing?
How does the ground affect the force?
Is it possible to break the rope?

2) What is your one focus question?
How is tug-of-war different on grass or cement?

3) List your Hypothesis- what do you think & why
People can put less forces (friction) on grass than they could on cement making the over forces less.

4) Explore & Investigate- describe everything that you did to help you answer your focus question.
We went outside and tried tuf of war on different surfaces to see how it can affect the game.

5) Wet grass provides less friction than cement. Physics.
